(boo for him being in California, last year he was deployed... fingers crossed for next year!)
We have been together for 5 years this summer & married for 2 on Thursday,
and somewhere in there we snuck in :
- Stalking the mailbox for letters from Parris Island
- countless trips to Norfolk
- more goodbye kisses than I ever care to have.
- Late night phone calls
- A deployment to cuba, spain and country hopping through europe
- the most amazing 24 hour engagement
- Saying I do
- a pregnancy
- a squishy 6.8 lb baby boy,
- Afghanistan
- a cross country PCS
- homecoming from Afghanistan, which helped us kick off our last year together.
Time flys when your having fun I suppose ;)
Lets look back :)
The day I waited for, for 3 months. Family day at Parris island Oct 18, 2007.
The weekend before he left for Cuba, August 2008
The day my love came back from Spain! October 2009
The day I became Mrs.Webber, April 12, 2010
The day we became parents, October 23, 2010
The day we welcomed Daddy home & our hearts become whole again, May 2011.
If I were to say our relationship has been a fairy tale, I woud be lying. We are your average couple..we fight, we bicker (ok, I fight...Patrick rarley fights back haha) and we've had our fair share of tears & heartache. But we have always been able to pull through because at the end of the day...he is the man that I fell in love with, and I could never imagine (and don't want to) starting and ending my days with anyone else.
The past year has been one of the best of my life, watching my son grow and being able to physically spend time with Pat and not worrying and wondering when the next time we will see each other again will be. The Lord really has given me so much more than I could have ever imagined in a husband or a father to my child(ren). He is brave, kind, determined... and many other things... (and he's kind of good looking, so that doesn't hurt ;) ) And I will forever wonder how I got so lucky.
So, happy 2 years my love! I love you with all my heart. Cheers to many more!
Congratulations on your anniversary! Definitely know how you feel with him gone. My hubby and I celebrated 2 years in January though he was headed to MCT in Jacksonville!
ReplyDeleteThis was too sweet to read! You guys have a year on us, both in marriage & in dating (we have been married almost 1 year and dating almost 4 years). And I can relate to the alone anniversary blues...the guys will be gone on ours so I'm planning to treat myself to some really nice wine and a small gourmet cupcake. :P
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that, like us, even though everything's not perfect, you guys still care about one another and make it work. Lots of people cannot acknowledge the bad and work through it, while also seeing how much good there is, and I think that's just such an unhealthy way to be. Happy happy anniversary!
Thanks to you both! We have yet to spend an anniversary together since 2007...so maybe one day!
